19 April 2010
12:00 PST: No updates since the 17th. I hope she is doing well.
17 April 2010
3:45 PST: Tina relaxed for most of the day and will play in a few sitNgo's in order to rebuild her bankroll. If all is well, she may sit in the later 4pm or 7pm event. I will keep you posted as I acquire the info.
16 April 2010
4:00pm PST: Tina will seat in the 4pm Double stack Turbo for $230. This has a starting chip stack of $12000 with 20 and 30 minute blinds. The increase to 30 minute blind levels will most likely take effect after the first break, maybe the second.
Two things.
1. My poker league is tonite. I will be playing
2. I will not update the blog until my game is over.
11:30PM PST: Tina had her pocket Aces cut down by trip Q's in the 4pm event. Then she sat in the 7pm second chance and placed around 20th (no $).

15 April 2010
12:00 PST: Tina has entered event #1 ($340) 7500 in chips 195 players in the game.
2:00 PST: At first break Tina is struggling after a very bad beat. "I am at a very loose table which was ok as I had also doubled my starting stack. Then I encountered someone who hit middle pair and called to the river to capture runner runner for the flush. This brought me back to starting stack and then it was "donkeys R us". She comes back from the break with a $1900 chip stack.
I told her no biggie a couple double ups in between a few smaller winners and waalaa. Same play as yesterday, nothing else. Remain Calm, be happy, smile and relax.
2:26 PST: Doubled-up
4:30 PST: 2nd break with $12,500 in chips and an average of approx 17,000 per player. Tina picked-up quad J's but was unable to get a good payoff on them. This an an early DINNER break belive it or not. Most dinner breaks happen around 7pm for this type of event. Play resumes at 7:30 CST, 5:30 PST.
5:30 PST: Wrong break for dinner as I thought. Tina misheard and thought it was dinner. She lost 2400 in chips during hour loss.
8:30 PST: Tina was knocked out in 30th place. No cash today.

14 April 2010
12:00 PST: Tina has entered event #1 ($230) 7k in chips. She is a little nervous (for no reason) over what she has got herself into. This format is similar to her home league in North Carolina, so she should do well.
2pm PST: At first Break, 10,000 in chips. 381 Players entered with approx 320 remaining.
3pm PST: Doubled-up
4:30 PST: Second break has started, next break is dinner. With 146 players remaining, Tina is nursing $41,000 in chips. The Average chip stack should be approx $18,000. Players at her table view her a "Rock Hard", "Beware", "Who is this studdet"? As she presses on, the key will be to maximize gains, minimize losses and capitalize on her table image.
7:30 PST: Dinner is over in 15 minutes. 69 Players remain, 44 is payout. Tina took a few hits and is milking $21,000 in chips. Average chip stack should be $31,000. She has a 1:2 chance of cashing in this event and should be very proud of her progress despite her chip stack. Upon resumption, she will encounter $1000/$2000 blinds with a $300 ante. We assume she has 10 hands to find the groove and push to acquire a larger chip stack. Deep into this tourney, moves made must be strong and in defense of your hole cards and chip stack. Slow playing does not become an option with any cards IMHO.
6:50 PST: Tina is in the money with 28 other players. She has over $100,000 in chips at this point. All is well.

Las Vegas- The 2008 Austin Poker Alliance NLHE Champion –Tina Kendall- went back on the WSOP circuit this season. Tina decided to skip New Orleans and opt for the circuit event in Las Vegas for the next two weeks. As noted on the Blog of the APA, Tina easily progressed through most of the levels until just before the dinner break. Upon returning from dinner, she hunkered down and waited for the prey. Not long after, a weakling moose showed up as the entre. Needless to say, the banquet commenced. As the wolf pack began ravaging prey after prey, the Alpha Wolf (Tina) lead the fray and capitalized on each victim that was silly enough to wonder from their own stampede. Eventually, Tina ran into a larger Alpha Wolf and was eliminated at 11:04 PST in 20th place out of a field of over 300 players. Many aspects of poker play need to be considered. Over the long haul, a player wants to ensure that investing in play has a positive return (known as Return On Investment –ROI). In this case, Tina has established a 100% ROI as she cashed out for over $560.00. We look forward to hearing about her continued money placement over the next 9 days.
As can be viewed from Tina Kendall WSOP earnings page, she placed 3rd in 2008 and garnered a tad over $12,000 for her play at the Horseshoe in Southern Indiana. That was no small endeavor though folks, Tina had to fight through over 500 players before she stepped away with 3rd place. Additional information on Tina can be found at two Home Poker Tour Leagues in the Austin area. The Cedar Park Poker Players Alliance website and The Bonus Chip website. Although Tina plays incognito in North Carolina, we do not have access to that information as that state has not progressed into modern times. N.C. does not recognize SKILL as being a positive human attribute.
The Austin Poker Alliance encourages all legal forms of poker play. As noted before, many of our players play in circuit events and have placed well into the money. Support the APA by telling your friends.
