AUSTIN POKER ALLIANCE      Stake Players      Henry
Henry Martinez

Playing Experience: semi-professionally 10 years+  (Poker dealer for 5 of those)

Primary Experience: Cash-Limit expert (4-8 to 20-40)- NL HE tournies.  Do not play NL cash games.                                           Omaha H/L and PLO are my specialties.  I plan on playing in all Tunica Omaha Tourn.
Taught by some of the best (Ray Henson, Russ Floyd, Greg FBT Mueller, Ed Moncada)

Play Style:  Tight-aggressive to Loose-Aggresive.  Pot-odd type player.  Do not get into too many pots unless
                  priced-in

Primary Skill:  Exploiting weak/inexperienced players

Bluff %:   +/- 5

Weakness:  Playing with the short-stack--like to be the table captain at times

Strength:  Playing with the big-stack, pushing weaker players around

Goof Factor:  I'm the unluckiest player in the world; if I can get just a hint of luck, we're cashing

Random Things:

  • I NEVER show my hands to anybody.  I feel that any information that I give them will be too hindering on my future performance.  I tend to be a bully with my stack but can back off when it is time to save some chips.  I DO NOT treat tournies like cash games.  My Tournament chips are very valuable to me and will not get into too many races unless the EV and Pot Odds have me as a favorite.  Also, must be priced-in
  • I am an iPod player.  I usually leave one on and one off to make sure that I am paying attention to all the action.  I listen to music during play to keep me focused.  I never eat before games b/c of a motto that I always live by, "a hungry dog hunts best."
  • If I am the strongest player or one of the strongest players, I do not get into too many races b/c I can beat them post-flop.  I am a better post-flop player than most and do my best work then.  When I am not the strongest player at the table, I race early to double up to give me chip advantages over the stronger players.
  • I conform my play style to the table and change gears often to keep my opponents off-balance with their reads.  I am a pretty good reader of opponents and am working on my own tells.

Staking Rules:

  • We can do a straight 50/50 of the buy-in.  I do not have to be staked in all tournies but some will help.  If staked 50/50, we split everything right down the middle.  (i.e.- if buy in $340, we put up $170/person...if the cash is $2000, I make a dime, and so do you
  • We can do the standard stake as well.  You buy me in, and I will be your horse (i.e.- you put up $340 and whatever we cash, I only make 40% of the PROFIT.  You receive 60% plus the the original $340 buy-in)
  • Anything other than the previous 2 options is negotiable.  We will have an emailed contract if this stake is confirmed and I am true to my word.  Ask ANY of my peers as I am an honest man.
