APA OVERVIEW

What is the Austin Poker Alliance (APA)

The Austin Poker Alliance is an affiliation of legal Austin area poker leagues and their players. The APA receives no money or profit from leagues or players. APA organization and activities are overseen by the APA Board.  

The purpose of the APA includes the following:
  • Connect, promote and support legal Austin area poker leagues, activities and players
  • Organize major poker events with large prize pools
  • Organize annual inter-league regional championship tournaments to determine an APA Champion
Austin Poker Alliance Board

The Austin Poker Alliance Board is comprised of the following positions in order of responsibilities (selected to 1 season terms):

  • Executive Chair - oversees APA meetings, activities and sponsored events to fulfill the organization's purpose
  • Vice Chair - assists Executive Chair in APA meetings, activities and sponsored events
  • Committee Chair - selected by Executive Chair; oversees special APA meetings, activities and events
  • League Officers - selected by their league; ensures their represented league is APA eligible; represents the interests of their league to the APA Board
The Responsibility of the APA Board is to fulfill the APA Purpose, including collaboration to organize quarterly APA events and the annual Austin Poker Alliance Regional Tournament.
 
 


Austin Poker Alliance League Membership (How to Join the APA)

  • An Austin area poker league is eligible for APA membership provided they comply to the TEXAS STATUTE § 47.02. Gambling.
  • An individual representing an existing legal poker game or an individual interested in establishing a legal poker game may register on the APA website or contact any active member of the APA Board.
  • Upon approval for APA League Membership, a league is entitled to the following:
    • APA endorsement
    • Option to seat 1 Officer on the APA Board
    • Option to list game details and utilize the resources of the APA website
    • Option to invite up to 6 qualifying league players to the annual Austin Poker Alliance Regional Tournament
